Writing a new chapter in mountain life

"We are convinced that the Aravis mountains are a powerful catalyst for values and positive energy. Beyond their playful and sporting dimension, characterized by an unlimited playground and adventure area, they can also be a remarkable place for learning knowledge and human values."

Jean-Christophe HOFF, Managing Director of SATELC

Our mission: to address these 3 challenges:

Attractiveness
↓
Social
↓
Sustainability
  • An attractiveness challenge, which concerns not only holidaymakers and day visitors in a highly competitive and demanding environment, but also involves the local population and residents, in order to build together a respectful, inclusive and enriching tourism offer for everyone.
  • A social challenge, supporting permanent employees to anchor them locally, and seasonal workers to secure their professional paths.
  • A sustainability challenge consisting of integrating planetary boundaries into our decision-making, by reconciling local economic development with respect for ecosystems. A long-term commitment to future generations.

These three challenges, far from being obstacles, become opportunities.

FOR THE FUTURE, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CONTINUE AND INTENSIFY OUR ACTIONS WITH SIGNIFICANT COMMITMENTS:

Limiting GHG emissions: our objectives are clear:
  • Reduce our CO2 emissions by 95% from November 2025 thanks to the widespread use of HVO fuel on our machinery and vehicles.
  • Strengthen our decarbonisation fund to finance projects that limit GHG emissions.
  • Secure our electricity supply from solar and local hydropower sources.
  • Limit visitor emissions (Scope 3) through HVO fuel in resort and incentive offers for train, bus and carpooling.
  • Support our service providers in using HVO fuel in their specifications.
  • Reduce the textile footprint by choosing TRICOLOR, a French eco-responsible brand.

Commitment to the Alpine Business Climate Convention 2024:

A strong act to accelerate our ecological transition and contribute to concrete solutions to climate challenges.

  • Doubling seasonal housing by 2030 to improve quality of life.
  • Sustainable optimisation of the ski area: dismantling obsolete infrastructure and limiting slope grooming.
  • Renaturalisation of impacted areas and preservation of local biodiversity.
  • Collaboration with associations and researchers to design environmentally respectful infrastructure.
  • Balance between skiing and non-ski activities with one new activity each season, compatible with climate challenges.
  • Target: 40% non-ski activities by 2040 to diversify our tourism offer.
  • Creation of a strategic investment fund to support profitable and sustainable projects in tourism and beyond.

A respected mountain with a future
